Jeff Burford joined the Morrissey team in 2005, and since that time has gained a thorough understanding of what it takes to succeed in the world of employee benefits. Prior to joining Morrissey, he worked for a health insurance carrier where he became experienced in all facets of group health insurance, including plan design, enrollment meetings, underwriting and member services. This experience comes as a terrific benefit not only for the Morrissey team, but more importantly, for our clients.
After graduating from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Jeff attended the University of Nevada, Reno where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business management with a concentration in human resources. After college, he worked as a human resources professional in the service industry in an array of different positions that included employment, recruitment, training and, most recently, as a human resources consultant specializing in unemployment law. This background gives Jeff an understanding as well as an appreciation of what human resources departments cope with on a daily basis, in addition to the everyday demands that come with managing a benefit plan.
As a longtime Nevada resident, Jeff enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering for local charities like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson, Opportunity Village and Ruegy’s Readers. When he is not volunteering his time or hard at work for Morrissey clients, his favorite activities are golf, Angel’s baseball games and time at the beach. His most enjoyable activity of all, though, is hanging out with his wife and two sons.
